The Agoonoree is set up as a Scout Active Support unit in the
North London District under the 24th Tottenham.
The camps are held at a different location each year and have recently
camped near Reading, Leicester, and Tunbridge Wells. The sites we use are usually schools that can offer a large field to camp in, indoor
accommodation for those who are unable for medical reasons to sleep under canvas, lots of showers or baths, and if possible a sports hall and swimming pool
The camp is run on traditional Scout lines with the
campers being divided into patrols. Each patrol is
staffed by male and female patrol Leaders, with
additional helpers as required. The Patrol staff are
responsible for the care of their Patrol members
throughout the week and they are supported by a
general staff, a team of chefs, QMs,
entertainments staff who plan and run the
programme and a nurse for immediate medical
needs and to supervised all medication.
The week’s programme would be familiar to all Scouts. A daily flag break, kit inspection and washing up. There are lots of activities such as hiking, training activities, games and sports, putting on shows, swimming, as well as day trips and of course a camp fire.
We also go off site for activities such as sailing or climbing, and a visit to the shops or the seaside if possible.
All events are planned to ensure that each camper has a great week, having a fun but safe time
