We’ve had a busy day starting with our morning exercise (wake up shake up), inspection and flag break and then all things Shrek. We’ve dressed up, made dens, built rafts and rescued Fiona from a swamp. It’s been a busy day, and we’ve got a busy evening ahead.
This morning we’ve officially opened camp and presented scarves to our newest members. We’re spending most of today trying new activities and learning new skills.
Day one has concluded with the traditional campfire. Our coaches arrived early this afternoon which gave plenty of time to unpack and settle in before some karaoke and dinner. This evening we’ve been putting those warmed up voices to good use as our patrols sing their favourite songs. We look forward to officially opening camp in the morning and another fun filled day.
Well done to our volunteers, and thank you to the HSBC volunteers pictured below, for getting the site ready for the arrival of our Scouts tomorrow. It’s taken over 12 months of offsite prep and 3 days on site but we’re now ready for Agoonoree 2025. Let the fun begin!
On site preparations are well under way for Agoonoree 2025. All our equipment is stored in a container which is moved to and from site each year, thank you to Container Lift again for doing this. We appreciate your ongoing support.
This year we are also delighted to be gifted a new container by MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company who also arranged delivery and will collect the old one. The old container had reached the end of its life, despite best attempts from our amazing volunteers, and a new one was needed to keep our much needed equipment dry and secure.
After each camp our equipment is dried and packed away by our volunteers before Container Lift move it back to Port of Felixstowe for safe keeping. As we are run entirely by volunteers and only 1/3 of our income is from fees we appreciate all these companies who help us minimise our costs.
