Thank you and goodnight

Wow, what a great week we had. Under challenging circumstances we all managed to come together for week full of fun and games. The tents are packed away, the party games played and memories made. Thank you to our supporters for enabling camp, thank you to our volunteers for their planning and hard work and thank you to our Scouts for their energy and enthusiasm.

In the words of one of Scouts “Did everyone have a good time at the disco? Good, now go to bed. Thank you and goodnight.”

See you in Moulsford…

More metal than Tokyo

After our end of camp lunch anticipation reached fever pitch as the various trophies were announced. Well done to the Kestrels for winning the patrol competition, the Ospreys the horse racing and the Swift’s the sports up and camp gadget, not forgetting awarding the shield to our happiest camper. Well done all!

The end is nigh

Our week of Agoonoree is drawing to a close but what a week we’ve had. There was still time for one more morning of fun though.

Thursday night fever

The afternoon rain meant a change of plan but after a celebration meal Thursday night is disco night at Scout Park. We donned our best outfits, grabbed some glow sticks and danced the night away.

Gold rush

Well what a thrilling morning it’s been in North London. We may not have the omnium or pole vault but we’ve got wheelbarrows and eggs and spoons, and it’s not over yet.

Re-live 2012

1908, 1948, 2012 … 2021. The Olympics is back in London for one day only. Who will go for gold? Who will crash out before the finish line? First though we need a hearty breakfast.

Dinosaurs under the stars

The afternoon has been spent getting close to nature with pond dipping and insect spotting, mixed with some mosaic and lantern making. Eating dinner in the late afternoon sun was a nice way to finish the day, ahead of an evening discovering stars and hunting for dinosaurs.

Playing with fire

Every year our volunteers receive a ‘wood’ as a thank you for giving up their time to support Agoonoree. The wood is from the site we camp at and is branded with our stile logo and where we camped.

Not to be outdone the kitchen team also wanted to play with fire, serving us a barbecued lunch to give us some well needed energy after an active morning.

Back to nature

Today we have a morning of action packed adventures with climbing, archery and rifles on the agenda. This afternoon we get back to nature with a pick n mix of activities. We will try our hand at bark rubbing, building a Bivouac den and pond dipping amongst many more. First of all though an inspection to make sure tents are tidy and we gather round the stile for flag break.

Well done team

Whilst camp is having fun or sleeping a group of volunteers is working hard to keep the Agoonoree machine running. The entertainment team are planning activities into the small hours, the laundry team make sure everyone has clean, dry clothes and bedding and an unseen crew keep the facilities clean and working. Well done team, camp couldn’t happen without you.
